Our story began 28 years ago...

Bethany and Ethan grew up together, just a bike ride across town. They were inseparable - sledding, playing in the woods, and having all sorts of adventures. {1 mile apart}

Time passed and they went their separate ways. Bethany traveled the world and moved to South America. Ethan traveled the world and moved to the Middle East. Somewhere in the middle of all this, they decided it was finally time to do something about this lifelong "friendship" and started dating. {7754 miles apart}

Several months later, Bethany in Colombia, Ethan in Iowa City , things weren't working out so they decided to amicably say adieu. {2367 miles apart}

Two years of silence ensued. Bethany was done. Ethan wasn't. He asked her out for lunch while they were both home for the holidays. Sparks? Not quite...not yet. But, after several weeks of meeting in Chicago and a handful of three dollar movies in Dixon, Illinois (halfway between Chicago and Iowa City) the sparks were definitely flying, and one rainy afternoon they decided to make it official (again). {187 miles apart}

After a few happy months, on a moonlight night at the end of a pier over Lake Michigan, Ethan proposed and Bethany said "yes!" They both moved back to Muscatine, and were once again living in the same zip code. {11 miles apart}

November 21st, 2009 was the big day, and everyone celebrated the exchange of vows with fanfare (and some party horns). {0 miles apart!}

And they lived happily ever after. The End.
